What chances do you think the IS F has against the M3?

I don't see how the base C63 can run in the same time.
The F430 does 3.7 and the Enzo 3.5 on the 0-100 .
For the Enzo you can obtain the best result starting WITHOUT LC .
Traction issues .

M3 coupe vs. IS F. I don't need to think. Give me M3 coupe.
M3 sedan vs. IS F. Give me more time to think, because I just can't stand that ugly rear.

When my mom got her Lexus GS last week there was a IF. The sales man didnt really now all specs except that they claim it has more hp than the M3 no comment there. It it were me I wouldnt buy any of them 415-430hp at 6500-7000rpm is junk for street driving and i know you'll cringe when I say this but for the money you can buy a vette (not the ZO6), base model. you are talking in the relm of 60+ thousand dollars, dont get me wrong I like the look of the M3's. I'd still lean towards M5 or M6 or a AMG product. In this scenario you cant beat 4yr/50K miles service and bumper to bumper on a M3 thats a race type car! You'd me a moron if you went the Lexus way.

IS-F 5.0 liter - 416hp
M3 4.0 liter - 414hp
A whole 2 extra hp, with one liter more.
But the M3 is lighter and just beat the IS-F best 0-60 (4.2 sec.) time to date by Car & Driver. Car & Driver tested the M3 sedan at 0-60 4.1 sec and that is with a manual. The new dual-clutch auto should shave at least two tenths off that.

i think IS-F is a good start for Lexus, but its just ISN'T ready to be on the same block as the M3, yeah maybe it will last longer but years of seasoning in the M cars do mean something....you just come up with something all of a sudden and say "hey we have done our market research this is the competition for this segment"..... but I know a lot of EVO and STI drivers will lean towards the IS-F , I doubt any BMW M3 driver will switch to an IS-F, they can add an IS-F by replacement is not gonna be an issue for BMW at least for awhile.
