How did you decide on the 997s over the 996 turbo? I would have taken the 997 too, but both great cars.
I would take a 997s over a 996 turbo everytime, have you not driven both??
The guy I just sold my CSL to had a 997s and then went to the 997 turbo and said the S was the more enjoyable car, all you do with the turbo is point it straight, and press the gas, brake, go round a corner, straighten up again and press the gas and it starts all over again, doesn't stay fun for long.

I too would take a 997S over the 996 turbo as it's definitely fast enough for me, has upgraded styling and is RWD.
My short wish list of 911s would be 997GT3 >996GT3 >997S >997 turbo >996 turbo.
Not sure where the 996 GT2 fits in there, either 2nd, 3rd or maybe even 1st. Other than the 997 turbo, all these cars can be had in the low 100s or less. The current best buy looks to either be the 996 GT3 or turbo depending on your needs.
Then again, I have soft spot for the 993s.

I was supposed to get the car shipped but the carrier requested for an additional $1000! So i decided to pick the car up myself and drive it back to SF! (abt 900 miles). The trip was a blast! I brought V1 with me and i arrived SF without any speeding tix! This car literally handles like its on rails, and i can't believe how remarkably well it corners compared to an m3.
The car has 14k miles on it when i picked her up from a porsche dealer at Tucson, Arizona.

Nice car dude! Let me know if you need anything from BMW SF, as well as your Porsche too. If you've ever heard of Shark Werks before they're one of my old customers from my last job in Fremont. Great team of Porsche freaks!

Yeah i've heard of Sharkwerks and planning to buy an aftermarket exhaust from them. They practically know every single things about porsche and best of all they do great jobs on their customers' cars.
