From the Japan Times comes this dandy article about asbestos use by Japanese automakers (except Honda) since 1996.

I wonder if the Germans are doing the same thing ...

Interesting. Who knows about the Germans? Have there been US lawsuits yet over the asbestos? If not, then I would bet they are coming. But, I won't bet against you.

Znod, you have a marvelous talent for understatement ... read all about asbestos lawsuits in the U.S.

Cheers.

I meant because of asbestos in the Japanese cars. Are all those threads about Japanese-car asbestos lawsuits?

Sorry my mistake.

Don't know about asbestos lawsuits involving Japanese cars, but who knows ... should go and check the court dockets before I speak ...
Problem not. OK, now I'll bet there will be some. Why wouldn't someone decide that his or her illness is because of the Japanese asbestos once its presence becomes common knowledge? Come to think of it I started feeling really bad about the time we got our recently disposed of Lexus. Are you available?
I wouldn't mind knowing, but if we do the asbestos lawsuit, then it will have to be 50/50. My idea and story/your work. Incidentally, I may be scarce for a while--going to London and beyond for about 10 days starting tomorrow. But, I'll probably end up on-line some of the days. Usually, the hotels we stay at have wireless or Ethernet access.
