My Ride: 2004 530I Black/Black, Premium/Sport, Navigation
2005 545I Silver/Black, Premium/Sport, Logic 7, Navigation
They are comparing 05 530I ( Premium package) with the new ACURA RL, Audi A6 4.2, Cadillac STS V8, Infiniti M45 Sport, Jag Style 4.2, Lexus GS430 and Benz E350.
They said they couldn't use the 545i because of the price cup, they tried to keep it under $55K. Where the heck they got their testing BMW from? Price as tested $54720 for the 05 BMW with premium package??? Why can't they use a 06 BMW 530I with 255hp where the price is still around $50K.

You're absolutely right. Scan down for a thread on this about a month ago. You should also look at the '04 write up in C&D on the 545i-- they gave it a great review and the few complaints they had at the time have been addressed (i-drive, active steering primarily.) In the case of Infiniti and Acura- I guess it pays to advertise. Even consumer reports said the handling of the RL "wasn't anything special."
