So a friend of mine challanged me with his 2006 Audi A6 4.2 quattro. He aims for a clear win. I aim for a good stance and who knows. I think something unexpected can happen from 140-150km/h onwords if it's a start from a standstill. Of course i don't make any illusions that i can keep up to 100km/h since he has a huge advantage with traction but what do you guys think it will happen afterwards? The engine itself i saw is pretty potent and develops a lil more than the 545i v8 (i've found 335 bhp and 350 bhp probably for the s line model ) but even so the delivery is better than the 4.4 V8 bmw. Hell the S line model gets close to the 550i delivery.
So what do you think it will happen cuz for sure soon i'll find out!

Challenge him to a 500 miles endurance race across the Carpathians, in an area where there's no gas stations. That will teach him.
TBH - if the aim to to see "who wins" in a straight line, what's the point?

Every time i engage in smth not too risky i do it for fun of course. I don't care too much about the win and i ain't doing it for money so...that's it. Fun and curiosity.
PS: About the carpathians race: I have never made an endurance race but that would be waaay more fun if you ask me. I like Gumball btw It would be nice to see. But from this point of view why not aim at the m5. So that the win will be sweeter

All the best to you! and forget the street racing movies too let him roll and when you are next to him floor it in DS but to turn off all the DTC dunno, weather is damn cold now and WINTER so with winter tires a race, why not in Spring??? But ok, you car your life and NEVER do it for pink slips!
(usually I smoke most Audis,MB not AMG... only on DAB, but not because my 265Hp is enough, just they are too much surprised when they see a diesel going over the 230-240 etc and not giving up, if you catch the right moment, but as you are NOT yet remaped I would not go too far...

My Ride: 2010 523i. Alpine white, dakota leather, 8 speed auto, VDC, bluetooth, HID lights, parking sensors, sport seats, black window trim, tinted rear windows
1988 Ferrari 328 GTS, nero on rosso corsa.
1992 Mazda MX-5 / Miata
2009 Ford S-Max 2.5T
This won't be much help but my 530d goes ideally neck to neck with my friends automatic A6 3.0 TDI Quattro Avant up to about 140 km/h. The only way I can outrun him is if I brake torque at the start. This was in the dry. In the current weather I'm sure with his extra traction he'd cream me. It was greasy/misty/wet here today and accelerating hard in a straight line I saw the traction control light come on at 120 km/h....
