I came across this article about spy photos of a Lambo Gallardo with the Audi RS4 V8 in it. Not sure what the pricing will be. An affordable Lambo, interesting. Kind of goes against their heritage.

Ferrari is doing the same thing. I've heard it referred to as the 'baby ferarri'.
The only reason I could think of building these cars is to generate more income. I didn't think either manufacturer had issues with income.

Its like the release of the R8 has created a new car segment. Rumors of Lambo, Benz, Ferrari to make entry level mid engine cars. Whos next BMW?

I doubt BMW will make an mid range supercar being that their cars are priced modest compared to MB. M6 is their biggest performance car so far and thats priced within CLS/E63 range.
I think the V8 Gallardo is a horrible idea and it will put alot more Lambos on the road. Good for their sales but bad for owners who spent 300k on a murcie and thought they werent going to have a billion cars of their brand around town.
Gallardo was a big waste, they should have made a mid range v12 model and priced it right at 200, something similar to the Countach.

I dont think Ferrari nor Lamborghini should make an economy car. The whole image of these cars are elite supercars, so putting out a more economical versus will tarnish the image, in my opinion.

I agree. I thought Audi really addressed this market with the current Audi R8, which seems to be a great alternative to stretching the wallet for a Gallardo, with the added benefit of a stronger dealer network.
+++++++++++++1
No point in a v8 lambo. In my opinion, no point in a v10 lambo either.

It's an awesome car - I'd take one over the F430 in a heartbeat.
