Yeah, i was mearly joking more, but in my eyes at least it hasn't any. Of course some car will be more luxurious, or more reliable, or other have a better interior finish but as an overall package nothing beats it.
I agree with U but If you ever visit HK you will see more MB than BMW and there is not many 5er in HK but loads of MB e-class.
for this range of car most buyer are over 40 in HK so they think MB is a better car for people to look at in HK and people think it cost much more, which is not.

if you like driving, the infiniti m35 and m45 is the e60's biggest threat. the steering felt so much sportier than the AS on my 545. it felt just like good ol' fashioned true bmw steering from older 3 series and e39 530.

if you like luxury, e class.

aaaah...sorry don't want to offence anybody, but those stupid americans at BMWNA would drive me nuts if i were to live there. I dunno it feels sometimes like they are doing it on purpose. Not delivering this, or that, or doing weird stuff with the packages like in your case, or cutting the power, LC, not offering diesels, 1 series....i can go on and on...

In my opinion many cars are 5-series competitors, not just those considered in the same class.

5-series competitors:

Lexus GS
Lexus ES
Acura RL
Acura TL
M-B E-class
Infiniti M
Infiniti G35
Audi A6
Cadillac CTS
Jaguar X-Type

But the biggest competitor is still Mercedes-Benz E-class in my opinion.

In HK 100% MB E-class

Hong Kong is a relatively small market, shouldn't do anything to the overall international sales number.
