I have to admit, the CTS-V looks hot. This is going to suck when these things start to pop up on the road. I'm sure they'll all want to run every M5 they see. I'm guessing I can keep up with a stock one but I'll be smelling fumes on the modded ones.

The CTS-V IMO is the Corvette of the sport sedan market...best bang for the buck. I think Elvis would even have had a black one!

Geez...with those kinds of gains, even the stroker M5 would be left in it's wake.
I think the impressive thing is the total cost. Think about what it takes to make this $60k sedan seriously fast. The tune is $320, and the gas mileage goes up 7 mpg highway:
A crank pulley basically ups your boost. That couldn't be more than a few hundred bucks.
Cams for the LS3 are what, like $400-500? Install isn't hard either, and doesn't take any super high $$$ tools.
Add that to the fact that this platform was designed from ground up to take this powerplant (unlike the last gen), and this generation is incredibly well put together (interior trimmed by the people who did the Bugatti Veyron, and the Recaro seats are amazing), and you have a pretty convincing all-around vehicle in this class.

When I'm 85, I'll get this Caddy.
