Back to the topic: I would have responded with: No i don't think i'm faster, but it's worth the try since i do love a great run. (and in this case you could have done smth, childish indeed, to steal the start or smth, so that to take an advantage on him and keep him behind for a period, and then brake and let him pass----> that is if you want to really annoy him)
And that's because i do it for fun, not money, not the win, mostly for fun.
And second don't feel bad. I in my 535d pissed the hell out of SLR once, and he literally was eating his hear out, for not being able to pass (throught traffic of course), and as soon as he met me again he remembered and smooked my ass to oblivion. It wasn't fun anymore, it was hilarious. 3rd gear for me and he was already 300m ahead. LOL But it was ok since i knew what monster i was facing. It's fun though.

Wow an SLR? Now if an SLR pulled up next to me and said that I really wouldnt even know what to say. Id prolly do a rear end collosion with him and run away or something

You barked up the wrong tree with a hybrid (sport/luxury) against a pure breed. Not even an M5 can keep up with the C6 Z06. Perhaps if you had a 997 TT, well, that's a different story all togeter.
My friend, you came knocking, and while I would prefer a bimmer over a vette, it's quite a humbling experience . . . and we all need to experience that once in awhile. While the majority of cars on the road won't stand a chance against a BMW V8, there's even a larger number of cars that won't stand a chance against the C6 Z06.
Don't be bitter/angry about his statement cause it might just save your life and your car one day . . . while a man who thinks he has the fastest car on the road has a higher probability of killing himself in the future.

After the gym today I was waiting at the light and a white Z06 came speeding across the intersection the same way I was waiting to turn. Light turned green and chased him down to the next light, we got stuck behind some cars but still accelerating "playfully". reminds me of the time i was drivin my second car ('06 330i) and some punk drivin a 335ipulled up next to me. i wanted to see how much faster his car was, so i edged up...he proceeded to do the same so as soon as the light turned green, we took off...for some odd reason, i beat him. at the next light i was going to ask him how he liked his car (as the 335i was brand new at the time) but he looked over and said, you know my car could smoke yours...and i just said thats not what i just saw and proceeded to drive off.
