It really does not matter what the LS460 looks like as it is not a real drivers car.

The current issue of Car and Driver? has a comparison of the S550, A8L, 750iL, XJ8 and LS460 and the LS460 was in last place.

Not that it is a bad car, it just focuses way to much on silence and reliability to the exclusion of everything the German makers emphasize.
I don't mean to threadcrap, but which car came in 1st from this group?

i've seen the resemblance, and although over all the LS is in some ways very similar to the E60... i dont think that was the plan lexus wanted, they intended for this car to be inovative, and original... doesnt seem they achieve that cause alot of people clearly say they copied the e60...

Im not saying this because I own an E60 but BMW is the benchmark for automotive engineering and design PERIOD.

Look inside the S550, I mean is that not a 80% copy of a 7series?
Look at the exterior of the new LS, you can tell they took BMW designs into consideration

Those 2 are good examples of carbon copies of bmw designs, other cars like the new IS or Infinitis technology strive is just proof that BMW was their inspiration.

I agree that BMW is tops in terms of sedan driving dynamics, but Audi has done a good job in terms of interior/exterior styling. the A8/S8 is just fantastic, but I think the A6 went downhill vs. its predecessor ('98-04 version with its Bauhaus styling).

I can't agree more with you that S550 interior is complete copy of the 7 series. I began to boycott MB because of their lack of innovation/capabilities to come up with something on their own.

It was my mistake that I posted asking about BMW copying Lexus. I wasn't thinking clearly back then, e60 was released in 2004 while the new LS has just been released.

I can't say for certain, but I think both rear seats recline (including a footrest) while it's only the right rear seat with the massage function. Perhaps someone else can chime in. I have to agree. If the poll was based solely on interior design I would have placed the LS first.
