CAR Online reader Simon Gregg has spotted Aston Martin's new Rapide testing undisguised in the UK. The new four-door Aston will be unveiled at the Frankfurt motor show in September, use the company's familiar 6.0-litre V12 with 470bhp and 443lb ft, and go on sale in early 2010.
As for the exterior and interior details, we'll leave that to reader Simon Gregg:
'I spotted the new Aston Martin Rapide on the M4 Westbound on Friday evening. This new addition from Aston Martin is most certainly going beat the Porsche Panamera in the style stakes! It has the same aggresive look of the Vanquish from the rear and even offers the appearance of being a two-door car, rather than a four-door when viewed from certain angles.
'The interior boasts a centre console which runs all the way through to the rear seating area - a strict four seater! The facia and interior door panels share the styling found in the current DBS and V8 range. Rear access is via a Vantage-style rear hatch, which will make loading up very easy.'

I like the way is looks but only 470 bhp from a V12 is a pretty crappy output. That monster should be sporting more than 550 bhp.

+1....for an Aston Martin, you would expect in the area of 600+ bhp's....especially since the engine is a V12...

they got to save some hp for there countless special editions
It is ridiculous that a naturally aspirated M5 V10 has 507 bhp while this infinitely more expensive Aston Martin has only 470 bhp and it's a V12. Not a smart marketing move.

Fine, so pull a Bentley Continental GT move. Start at about 550 bhp and go up to 600 bhp for the "Speed" edition.
