Every time I see one now I do a doubletake. The new Accord is soooo similar. Anyone having similar reactions to the new Honda?

I noticed that too, from the first commercial I saw, to the first time I saw one in person. "Hold on tight to your dream" as the music from the commercial states, well Honda, your dream to make a Japanese E60 is only a dream. There is nothing like the real thing.

I agree, I think it looks great and the masses will flock to it,I saw some small Nissan today that had a trunk lid that looked like a 7 series. The CS based cars will move the target further out for the copy cats.

Cheers

Yep, saw a new Accord go by on the street last week, and thought at first glance it was a 5er. On second glance, definitely not.

I had the same reaction when I saw the new accord. Then i realized... people who KNOW cars will know the difference... thats all that matters to me.

Speak of the devil... I did a double-take this morning driving by a dealership on my way to work. It was a coupe; nonetheless it reminded me a mix of 3-ser coupe + e60.

Now that I own an E60 - I can see many copycat vehicles out there...I also think the Camry is a styling copy between the 5 & 7 series....but all I have to do is look at an '04 Camry/Accord, etc. then an '04 E60 and know who the true innovater was

I agree 100%. I pointed out the new Accord to a friend I was driving with and he thought is was an e60 till we got close enough for him to read the badging. Originality doesn't seem to be the strong suit of most car manufacturers these days.

ABSOLUTELY!!! I was going to post something on this, but haven't had time. I think they also blended in some Audi A6 elements as well.

The Accord looks nice and bests the Camry and Nissan in the looks department, probably a better overall car too. But, something aint right with Honda. Acuras are a joke and there isn't that Honda uniqueness any more.

Anyway, Bangle was right.

Yes, the 4 door Accord looks like an E60, but the Accord Coupe looks pretty nice, albeit derivative. For $28K for the 270bhp V6, seem like a great deal, especially with the reliability.
