Hey guys,

As already posted before, I am going to buy a new car, but I don't know which car out of : Audi R8, Porsche Carrera S and AM V8...

Has anybody driven the R8??? Or the AM? The Porsche drives wonderful I think...

Currently driving E60 535d and E46 ///M3 Convertible...

Thanks,

I have not driven the R8, but have seen it in person. It looks different in person than in the photos IMO. It looks much better live than in photos. The AM V8 is strikingly beautiful, but underwhelming performance wise IMO and reliability is always an issue with them. I have a Carerra S, and can tell you whatever you want to know about that one. The S will have the edvantage of the small backseats which can come in handy from time to time. The car is a great daily driver and a great track car all in one. It offers the perfromance and daily driver intangibles that perhaps the others do not. The R8 is interesting and tempting, the AM is good looks but little else, 911 total package but maybe not as "sexy" as the others.

There appears to be a great selection of suitable beau's at that level: 911, XKR, CL500, AM, M6 blah blah blah.

Depends on the type of drive you want.

Out and out sports car - 911, R8 or M6 maybe

More for wafting - AM CL

If it were me I'd be definitely considering a Maserati Gran Turismo.

According to a friend who drives a gallardo and CLKDTM, the R8 is extremely practical and handles great. Just not fast enough. He tested the r8 in vegas early on this year.

He sold his AMV8 after 2 months of owning it. Reliability issues and there's too much Ford in it.

Our R8 comes in Dec, White with Carbon side blades. So will tell you my experience when the car comes
