I'd allways pick BMW over Audi. Just my personal preference!
A friend of mine is the exact opposite...
Both cars are great, but I like BMW much more!

I'm about to get my first BMW. I hope it was the right choice.

Saw the A6 for the first time at the auto show in Anaheim, CA. I thought I would like the nose...but I don't. Audis are known for their fit and finish and it undoubtedly has that! But I still prefer my bimmer! (I am however disappointed with the width between some panels...especially when drying the car after a wash. It's very hard avoid water spots in the seams of the car)...but I'll live with that for now. I feel the 5 Series is a love-it or hate-it design; the Audi is more sedate.

A quick point in measuring HP. I don't not know how Audi does it, but I know that many American and Japanese marks measure BHP at the flywheel.
BMW measures BHP where the rear rubber meets the road. The former method does not take into account the power consumed by the transmission.drivetrain and differential which can be as much as 15 bhp. Just plain HP numbers do not translate to the everyday driving experience. If E.G. A cars power is all abve 4500 rpm, it is going to be very difficult to drive in everyday traffic and not too rewarding unless you are on the track. A car with less BHP but a more even curve and torque and BHP will perform better.
I like the everyday driveabilty of my 545i. I can roll like a limo or corner and drive hard like a Corvette. No other car I can think of provides this combination.
