Is it a good match for the E60?
On AUDI US website, it says it offers wireless connectivity, are they referring to BT?

I love my 525i but I would like to hear other people's opinions.

A great car - I drove a 2001 2.7 T for 4 years. IMO better than a 525. Better engine, features, interior, and quattro. Doesn't handle quite like the BMW though.

Lovely interiour, exteriour looks are too bland for my taste. Ride is too rough. seems to me like they try to compensate their lesser handling with even stiffer suspension.

I haven't driven the new A6 with direct fuel injection. However, I had a 99 A6 2.8 and lived with it for 4 years. I would drive it (A6) to work and pick up client and passengers with it, but when the weekend comes, hello E36. Thus I only put 8,000 miles per year on both cars.

I think the Audi is very polished and docile, and great bargain (feature wise) compared to BMW. I am willing to bet that the new Audi will drive better than the previous iteration. The same goes for E60 over E39. I have already gotten used to the new Big-Gulp grill found in the new Audis.

I don't think I would choose A6 4.2 over 545i, but I would choose A6 3.2 over 525 for sure (same price I believe). Anyone disagree? Between A6 4.2 and 530i I would take the A6 4.2

Test drove it May. Lovely large interior, tiptronic, easy cruiser.

Does not have the soundproofing of the E60 ( which is simply astonishing ) and
definately not as solid built as the E60. Tiptronic was flimsy.

Not a " driving experience" in my opinion.

Not even close....

We took the 4.0 for a test drive last week. My sister is considering either the 3.0 but all they had was the 4.0 for a test drive. The car is pretty good power and drives pretty smooth. In interior is nice and comfortable and the interior quality feel very good. Their version of the idrive use more buttons around the knob for faster inputs which i guess could be better when driving. Didn't fool with it all that much so I'm not sure how good or bad it is. The styling has improved a lot since the previous model and I really like the look now.
In comparision with the 545i, the 4.0 is no match in my opinion. It comes close in interior styling but no where near it in terms of sportiness and performance. I've also heard that Audi's tend to get a lot of problems, not that we haven't heard our fair share of those in the forum. If the 5 series wasn't around, my second pick would be the A6 4.0.

I also drove a 2001 A6 2.7T. Looks like we've got similar taste.
Basically nice car, nice interior, but at the end of the day it just didn't drive like a BMW.
I really missed the near 50/50 weight distribution. Quattro and a sweet lease deal got me into it but it didn't get me into another one.

I agree with some other posts, too. The V8 Audi doesn't compare to the V8 5 series (maybe if they come out with an S6 for '05 it would). If someone is just looking for smooth luxo 6 cyl. transportation then Audi may have the edge.
But anyone who enjoys driving (esp the corners) the BMW is the car to have. IMHO

Also... Nobody has commented on that Ugly nose!! Should take some attention off of our Bangled butts.

I've had several Audi. Never a BMW. I still would rether have an Audi A4 than a BMW 3 series. If nothing else, because of the w*****mobile image.

However I've never liked the A6. The new one is nice, but I'm just not moved by it. But the 5 series BMW has always appealed, and especially the E39. I nearly bought a 525d a few years ago. I'd prefer to buy a new E39 than a new E60, but of course you can't.

I had a drive of the A6 3.0 tdi and the 530d. Both very nice to drive. But at the end of the day, the BMW excited me and the Audi didn't. And my car has just been built. Another few weeks and it will be mine to drive.

I testdrove an audi A6 new model 3.0 back in may when it was just released. For me it was a choice between the E60 530 and the A6. But after testdrive the A6 i came to the conclusion that it is a nice car but not as good as an E60. I can say by far not as good if you compare the handeling with an E60 with dynamic drive and active front streering. Also I'm rather tall 6.4 and the Audi front window is to small/low if you have to look up at the traffic lights or you must turn the seat all the way down that does not give good sitting comfort anymore.

the exterior is too bland and boring for me. I live near Audi's showroom. They put their new A6 outside so I can see it everyday. Day by day, I feel the design becomes so boring. the interior is nice though..and the price is low compared to BMW.
