Those are the cars that make people "WOW" when they see them. Few people really say the same WOW to an R8, even with the v10.So it all depends with what you compare it to. Having said that it can't be a supercar, because a supercar by definition cannot suffer from this compromise. A supercar is a supercar no matter what you compare it to. Compare the R8 to an M3 and it may be a supercar, but compare it to a Veyron or a Lambo LP and it doesn't seem so anymore.
But if we stay on the compromise track, then i can say i consider a 911 GT3 RS much more of a supercar than the R8. See here for a direct comparison of the Audi R8 (v8) and the last generation 911 GT3 (not even the RS).

IMHO R8 looks on par with those supercars and adds everyday driveability, not to mention all-season utility. I'm not crazy about the ABT tuning for it though...
