Thanks. I see you're in Germany. Are you German? I used to live in Germany. I went to the University of Heidelberg. Deutsch war mein Hauptfach.

Whew, those days were a drunken haze.

BMW 545i

Well, I was thinking of getting the 530i until I drove the 545i. The 545i is sweet, noticeable power difference, handles great and very quiet inside.? I wish it had the intelligent key and wish the fold down rear seats were standard, which they should be for the $64k car I was looking at. The HUD is pretty cool, but not sure I would like that in the long run. Seemed blurry at times, especially if you're not looking directly at it.

I want the 545i, but am still thinking about the 530i too. 6k difference for the model of 545i I want and I think it's worth it. On the other hand, that adds $136 to the 3 year lease because they will only give a 58% residual on the 545i where it's 60% on the 530i.

If I go with the 530i I may regret that I didn't get the 545 instead. For me, I'm not sure I could live with the fact that I bought a 57k dollar car that has less HP than a Nissan Altima. But you could also argue that if you just want a fast car then go and get a Mitsubishi Evo that will smoke all of these for 25k less.

Why not just wait for the 530i with the new R6 engine...its rated at 258bhp, plus a bit lighter than the current 3.0 as well as an electric waterpump, so there should be some noticable power increase...i think it matches the car perfectly and am waiting on this engine (as well as the M-Sport pkg) to be available in the US before placing my order...im sure the 545 power is great, but for me, theres no reason for a big V8

I drove both as well. Audi was very nice, but I just thought the 545 was cooler. I got it for $894/mo on 36 mo lease w/12k, 0 down, just paying fees.

Yes, I'm German. Born and raised. Frankfurt... Not too far away from Heidelberg.
