Hi All:

Two recent tests show, for example, the 0 to 60 time for this car to be 6.0 and 5.1 (the second from a comparison of various in-class cars), respectively. In the second, the BMW 530i nosed out the Lexus for 1st place in the comparison--with performance being an important factor. Any thoughts about the acceleration descrepancy for the IS350?

I am having trouble with 6.0 for a 3,600+ lb. auto with 306 HP. I know that manufacturers sometimes provide "perfect" cars for some tests, but, still, 6.0 versus 5.1? The 5.1 car was an auto. I can't remember what the 6.0 car was. Here is some pertinent thought food.

545i--lbs./HP = about 3,814/325 = 11.74, and "essential the same" mags. showed 0 to 60 of 5.4 and 5.2 (the second definitely an auto).

IS350--lbs./HP = about 3,600/306 = 11.76. So, 5.1 probably is closer to the truth. The 5.1 car did have a 4.08 rear end as I recall.

The quarter mile time for the 5.1 car and the 2 (maybe) BMWs was 13.7.

After writing what's above everything looks pretty reasonable except for the 6.0 car. Personally, I am glad I have a B&B exhaust and Dinan throttle body and am looking forward to the soon-to-be released additional Dinan 545i items

are you saying an IS350 can smoke a 545i ?!?

Wow, this is shocking indeed.

I am not saying smoke. But, it appears to me they would run pretty even. Still, I suspect that the 5.1 car may be a known factory "perfect" performer.

The lastest MT shows 5.5 to 60 and 14.0 for the quarter for the IS350. It indicates that only an auto is available for the car.

Yea but why does it matter? because when you come to a corner, you'll definately see that IS350 in your rear view mirror as it can't even beat the 330i with almost 50 horses less on a track! so i guess Lexus is turning into another MB with hotrods for stop lights, not bad though.

hot rods for stop lights is right, well said

Human can never do thing consistently like machine, so 5.1, 6.0 or 7.0 second could be the right answer.
