Im having a lot of trouble choosing between the lexus or the bmw. I was out sunday and i saw a raw black bmw 525i, and then about 5 mintues later i saw a 06 GS AWD and for once i liked the bmw better, which was odd. My 93 GS 300 is getting old and i want to get something off of it before its too late. I really do like the BMW, and how advanced the AWD is on their, I like the fact that BMW has the BMW teleaid system that lexus does not have, but i like the DVD system that lexus has and the Pushstart, would someone give me advice on which on to choose?

I would drive em both.. I drove both cars and my experience is that the BMW is far superior as a drivers car while the new GS is more comparable with the E-Class of Mercedes.
Search for GS300 and you will find a long thread where I post my experience together with other testdrivers.

well, first of all, welcome aboard
. one thing you have to keep in mind that you posted in a bmw forum. i'm sure 99% of the replies will tell you to get the 530. that 1% will probably be someone who had some serious problems with their cars/dealers. i personally do not like any of the lexus. i think they are a bunch of overpriced toyotas
, well, they are toyotas anyway
. also, i do not like their styles/designs
. however, to be fair with both manufacturers, test drive both of them and make your final decision. after all, you are the one who buy and drive it
.

I used to drive an E46 but one day decided to test drive the 06 GS 300 AWD, the 05 Acural RL, and (at the time) the 05 530. While the Lexus and Acura were nice cars, they did not inspire any passion. More precisely, they felt sterile compared to the E60 or E46.
Each and every time I get into my E60, I get excited not only because I can ride in style, but because there is a certain emotion that is evoked by everything from having the comfort seat nestle your back into a snug grip to shifting through the gears on the SMG. The refined roar of the engine is quite different than what you get from Japanese vehicles.

It's really amazing - I have friends and co-workers that are diehard Lexus fans However, one of them said the following after riding from DC to Pittsburgh with me:
"I am physically sick because I don't have this car." -an '04 GS 430 owner

[/quote]Sorry - I shouldn't be so obtuse. He rode in my car and was so upset that he didn't have an E60 that he said he was "physically sick".
