he's been requiring an ID and CC copy for awhile now...

I think he had a deal/sale go wrong and this is a security measure he now has to take to protect himself/his sales...

Seems like someone was on here talking about it a few months ago. I imagine our friend Gary got burned and has had to implement this to protect himself.

He's been requesting that for at least a year now. I too had to submit a copy of my DL and CC when I bought my 166 from him last May. Transaction went real smooth. It's just another way for him to catch/prevent fraudulent sales to his team.

You are right. Last time I ordered parts from him I asked why he needed the copies of ID and CC. He told me his parts department got burned with a fraudulent CC.

Yes, Garry has asked for verifying documents for new accounts for some time.

Seems to me that with Identity theft happening all around us it's not a horrible practice to adopt. I realize it's annoying and imposes more work on honest people but we're the ones who pay the extra/higher price to offset the losses from fraudulent transactions.

Buyers should think about the same or similar practices when buying from someone they don't know!

I was exchanging emails with him a few months back but he never mentioned anything like this. well' guess he really needs to place this system for everyones good.
