Kinda figured he was selling snake oil....
How in the heck does some one have the time to gank an ecu from an E60 in broad daylight ( or parking garage when you leave your hood open overnight
and nothing else gets taken ). Taking an ECU from a modern bmw is not a smash and grab job like on a mid 90's honda... 
It requires some tools, time, and some know how to get it out since they are barred in the engine bay under about 3 things.

. True... only a pro can take a ECU in 3 minutes.

Maybe a digit was wrong n the transmitted CC numbe by mistake..?
If not, and you're 100% sure, you should contact the FBI's ICCC.
