You'll have to tell us if it works, I suppose. Also, either way, be sure to post the part number of the new microphone so we can see which one it was...

OK Gents, I had the mic replaced with the new one yesterday, part #84-31-6-938-762. I called the people who always complained and in their opinion, a little to no improvement in quality. They still hear a little echo, feedback and at times garbled talk as well as being still low. I have experimented with the volume in the car as well as the phone to no avail.

I don't know, maybe its my phone (S/E T637). I gave it a try and it appears the problem remains. :'(

Sorry to all, I wish I had better information.

Frank

I doubt it is your phone. The bt system just seems to have very poor sound quality for those on the other end. It is a shame because I end up switching to my handset when I want someone to be able to hear me clearly.

Also experienced complaints of people not hearing me - poor microphone volume.

Changed a 2004 mic today with new one, same part no (so doubt it has been updated??) 84 31 6 938 762.

Result, i can now be heard no probs. 100% ok i would say. ?30 cost, 1 min to fit, def worth a try before dealer if your out of warranty.

I am having the same problem.

I have a service appt. for another matter (my second visit for the airbag sensor warning) coming up in two weeks, so I am adding this to the list of things to fix. I'll let you know if I notice any improvement.

I have the opposite problem with my 2008 X5, the mic is amplifying my voice WAY TOO MUCH! Most of the calls from this car have the listener wondering why I am yelling!
