I just picked up my car from the dealer, they installed upgrade version 15 and activated BT on my March 2004 production 545. I paired the phone and am able to make and receive calls, I hear fine but on the other end they complain that it sounds like I am in a "box" and there is echo. I haven't seen my phonebook on the Idrive yet, I will try to download it by reading some of the posts here.
I have not driven the car (except from dealer to my house, 2 miles) to notice any difference with V15.

Congrats on the getting BT working. Once you pair the phone and drive around for a bit, the car should automatically "suck" the contacts from your phone. Mine did - I have the T637. I love BT
I also have not experienced any sound issues or ring limits. Of cours my car is 2005. In fact, it sounds better than in an Acura TL I tried it in. There I would hear crackling and I couldn't even control the volume!

I believe I recall others saying they had a similar problem - I believe it was cured with a new TCU. I seem to recall something about the microphone possibly being reversed in some instances as well. Before you pursue that route, others have said the person on the other end can hear much better if you turn the volume down on the car - evidently this creates an echo. Hopefully the latter cures your problem completely.

Is their a list of BT phones that work with Idrive? I use Verizon and will need to buy a BT compatible phone once I get the SW upgrade. Any info is appreciated.
Never Mind - just saw earlier post on Verizon BT.
