I will be moving from a 2003 3.0 X5 to a 2006 530XI. I had the Bluetooth module retrofitted to my X5 in July 2004. This was at a time when there were a few module types floating around. I have a feeling that I had one of the "early" BT modules. One of the complaints of Bluetooth it is difficult to hear me when I'm on handsfree in the X5 (sounds like I'm in a tunnel).

For the X5 I also had to purchase the cradle # 84 21 0 307 726 and the spring box which fit into the X5 armrest.

With me moving into the new E60, can someone post exactly what pieces (besides the cradle) I will have to order to allow me to install the cradle in the armrest of the E60. Are these the same pieces that were used in the X5 or are there newer parts?

Finally, has the sound quality improved on the newer Bluetooth modules or do we still have the "tunnel syndrome" when speaking...

Same cradle for 5er but doubt that eject (spring) box is same but do not for sure - ask dealer.

Overall improvements have been noted as the TCU and Mics have been upgraded, some a couple of times.
