I've got a smartphone HTC S710 (Windows Mobile 5) which I would like to use in my Bluetooth-enabled '04 BMW 525i. The phone pairs well with the car via Bluetooth, but I still can't use it to make/receive calls, e.g. the phone book doesn't show in the car menu. The car also has a built-in headset; could that cause a problem? Any advice would be highly appreciated. Thanks Andrei

I have the same problem. I also have '04 BMW E61 with Motorola built-in handset. I tried many times to use the bluetooth. First it goes perfect, no problems with pairing, but nothing more..no phone book no calls...

Today I was visiting my local BMW dealer. They told me, if the car is equipped with BMW Motorola Handset, there is no such possibility to use the bluetooth with different mobile. But I am not agree with them..I think the do not know how to solve the problem. Even when I asked for changing the software, he told me not to do this, cause it can bring troubles!! In my opinion they are really stupid..ehhh.
Maybe someone on this forum has the BMW handset and uses his own mobile??

Now I know how it works. I made a phone call to the central service in my country, and was talking to someone who knew a lot. He told me that there is NO such possibility to pair my mobile if in car is original BMW Handset. The only way to solve this problem is buying these: kit. I thought I wouldn't spend so much money, but this is the only way. Sometimes I hate BMW, cause they have strange solutions...
