I have just received the new BMW Bluetooth Preparation Compatibility Matrix - issued May 2005. (It was emailed to me as a pdf file from Customer Services, UK)
If anyone wants a copy emailed to them let me know. For me, they have added the Nokia 6230i (MY PHONE!!) and they expect a snap in adaptor cradle for it soon (YIPPEE!)
Maybe someone can host the file!!??!

these guys here claim that Nokia 6230i is only partially compatible and that BMW would not support newer Nokia phones! Is that true? Please let me know if Nokia 6230i is fully compatible and if there is a snap on adaptor for it because I am about to get one.

My Ride: 2005 MY 545i Sport Saloon. 2006 MY Alpina B3S Convertible. 2006 MY Brabus Smart 42 Cabrio. 2006 MY AM DB9 Coupe.
Note: the matrix informs us that the new "i" version of the Nokia 6230 is compatible. Nothing about the original 6230 non-"i" version!!!!
Make sure you purchase the new "i" model!!!!
At the same time - it is pitiful to see how tiny the Bluetooth list is from BMW. Why is it that car makers employ the worst software programmers on the planet?????
There simply is no excure really.....

My Ride: 535d Sport (M sport steering, M sport sills, M sport suspension, 18inch M style wheels) Carbon black, black nasca, dark wood, dechromed, folding mirrors, extended lights, sun protect glazing, grad tinted winscreen, servotronic steering, heated, ventilated active comfort seats, extended voice control, hi-fi speakers, hud, active cruise, split folding rear seats, rear electric blind, rear manual blinds visbility pack (xenons, adaptive headlights), media pack (6 CD, prof nav, bluetooth with telematics and assist)
Ironically both BMW and Microsoft can and do employ the BEST programmers on the planet - it's dumb management decisions and other stupid people in the whole mix that mean the end product is usually sub-standard and/or feature poor...
