Was told this phone works with the E60. Well, I've got a brand-new 545i, and a brand-new Sprint Treo 650 with the latest Palm OS update and the damn thing refuses to even pair. I enter a passphrase on the phone, accept the device in iDrive, enter a passphrase on the car, and then the phone fails out. What garbage. Even the incompatible LG phone got farther than that before I returned it. Phone is going back tomorrow (unless somebody here posts a miracle solution in the meantime).

Well since others here have had success with the Treo 650, I would bail out in one day. One thing I remember reading (and I'm not a Treo owner) is that the contacts only transfer from the Treo's "favorites" (or whatever it's called.)

The following posts may be of interest to you (if you haven't already seen them):

The next link begins back in December of 2004 but you need to follow it through because it shows how some of the problems are solved:

(the following link was contained in the above thread but it might be of interest anyway

Hope that helps. If you do a search on "Treo" you'll find a ton of posts -- most of them are having success so don't give up yet!

Read everything, nothing works. They can't even pair, which is ridiculous. I'll take this as a sign from God that I shouldn't be talking on the phone while driving.

...and you are SURE you ran the the Bluetooth Update found on the PalmOne website as we posted a while back? After that install, my 650 and 2005 530i never fail to pair and work perfectly.

PalmOne Treo 650 CarKit

Although BMW is listed as "NO" for functioning, it does work.

Obviously, something isn't right if others aren't having the same problems. Maybe exchange your Treo for a different one?

Did your car come with BT from the factory or did your dealer add it?

The Sprint 1.08 OS update (which I applied) supersedes the car kit update. If you try to iinstall it, it won't iinstall.

From the factory. My last chance for this phone will be trying to BT pair with something at the Sprint store. If that works, then a new phone won't help me.

Well obviously something is wrong and should be fixable...

The phone is not 'officially supported' by BMW or Sprint and therefore nobody will fix anything. Returned the phone today and used the $650 to buy a spoiler.

You know, I don't see alot of SprintPCS Treo 650 owners here posting their success. I have Cingular, and it works like a charm.

But I was considering switching to a SprintPCS 650 so my company can pick up my charges. Uh oh.....
