Sprint Treo 650 Updater
I'm installing this update now. Will report findings soon, if all goes well. This should make the Treo 650 a bit more useable with our e60s...
I believe there is an update for other Treos at the site as well.

Rudy, I follow the phone forums quite a bit. There are reports of the Sprint Treo 650 working with the patch and the new Verizon 650 pairs with E650 but does not transfer the phonebook.

There is a lot of pressure on Verizon right now for various reasons, including safety. They took 6 months to release a patch for the V710.

does this patch make the sprint Treo 650 fully compatible with the e60 now?
transfer phonebook
allow voice (name) dialing
show caller ID - inbound & outbound
since my bt e60 will be here soon, i'm looking to finally get a new phone ... the V60i(T) sucks!

Hi All,
Has anyone paired the Treo650 with Cingular service to the E60?
Thanks,
Arno

As for the GSM treo 650's in the US (Cingular ATT), if you have a branded one you need the update that came out months ago. These phones came out without the update to Bluetooth.
I have the unlocked GSM phone which I use with a Cingular SIM or a T-Mobile SIM. The unlocked GSM phone came out with the update to Bluetooth. It works right out of the box.
The paring works great with either the unlocked or the branded (cingular/t-mobile) once updated.
The update to the unbranded GSM treo that came out late last week does indicate that voice quality is to improve. I'm not sure if this includes the quality of voice through BT.

I can verify for sure that it has changed/improved two things for me:
1. Very rapid pairing - as soon as I enter the car, my TReo and e60 find each other and sync. This used to take 5-10 minutes.
2. I now get an accurate 'signal strength' on the iDrive screen (bottom). It used to always be blank.

Hi Jobah,
Thank you for the follow-up. I currently use a Motorola V5 series phone, which was an AT&T logo'd phone. It works great with my E60, but I am looking into getting the Treo650 or the HP Ipaq 6325 since i need web access as well. Not sure which phone to go with. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Arno

Arno,
I know nothing about the HP/Ipaq 6325. I am a diehard Treo guy (Handspring Visorphone, Treo 270, Treo 600 and Treo 650). The 650 with GSM is not perfect and apparently the Sprint 650 is better for bluetooth in the cars, but mine pairs quickly the favorites (the 70 speed dials) transfer and I can use the car features of dialing, answering, calling, and checking missed calls. I'd say thats pretty good.
