I just acquired an ?07 530xi and am trying to synch up my Treo 600 with the in-car Bluetooth system.
The phone recognizes the connection as ?BMW?, but the car recognizes the phone as ?Motorola?. I can make and receive calls through the in-car system, but my manual says that the car is able to read the SIMM card on the phone and recognize my phone list, etc., which isn?t happening. Is it that Palm is just not on the list of compatible devices, or is there something else that needs to happen.

I am not being disrespectful. I'm not and most people know this on here, but you just bought a 2007 BMW and you have a 2003 Palm phone. My advice is to buy a new phone! New smart phones are $200 or less and do much more than your old Treo.

No disrespect taken. What can I say? I'm a late adapter! I stick with what works, and this phone has worked, and continues to work for me. Right now, I have all I can handle learning how to use all the features of my new ride. (I'll look at iPhone when they offer it on Verizon early next year, though)
So am I to understand by what you implied that Palm (or at least my model) is probably not an option in the car's firmware?

Was at the dealer and asked about this. Turns out, there are not a hell of a lot of Verizon phones do DO synch up period! But tonite I discovered the voice command system, and it's pretty cool, although you have to manually add all the names to your voice phone book. Once you do that though, it's a breeze just to push the button on the steering wheel, speak the commands and make the call. I can live with that!
It will be interesting to see if an incoming call on my voice phone list will display on the screen (or even better, be announced!).
