Ok here is a strange one....I activated my bluetooth on my 545-2004 everything works like a charm adressbook,pairing wt/iphone/dialing/etc.

The only thing is i hear them but it seems they cant hear me???? I know this topic is probably covered in here but i cant find the tread. Im thinking i dont have a mic?


Is it possible not having a mic?

 

pop off the two microphone holders on the panel with the sunroof control and take a look...driver's side is for phone, pass side is for voice recognition (if you have the nav.)

 

Checked the mic on top and there is amic there? Any ideas what is going on?

 

either the microphone is bad (was there a cable connected to it?) or something is wrong with the settings on the phone. check the connection on the microphone and try with another phone to see if that fixes it.

you have an M5, which means you have nav and voice recognition- does your voice recognition work? press the face icon on the steering wheel or next to the idrive knob, wait for the beep and say "options" and see if you get a response.

 

If I read your message correctly, your question is about a 2004 545. What is the build date? It can be found on the sticker on the driver's side door opening. If it is built before March 2004, it is likely a problem with the TCU being the original version that would not support multiple BT connections (assist and telephone).

My 2004 530 had exactly these symptoms and I discovered it was built on Feb 28 2004 with one of the last older style TCU's. replaced it with a newer one and no problem with BT phone and handsfree.
