I've got voice dialling working on my car through my bta1500 and iphone 4, but its a pain to get into the voice dial menu. I press the phone button on the steering wheel, then have to go across to top 8, under which I press voice dial then dial. With voice dial working I don't really have the need to use any of the other menus. Is it possible to code/program/set the button such that pressing the phone button will make the call command under voice dial without me going through all the steps in between?

When i am "standing" on a contact and press the phone button on wheel, its just call that contact.
But if pressing down on iDrive it say "call" and then you could press down on iDrive again.

Ok, that saves a button press at least. No way to shortcut through all the menus and have the steering wheel button voice dial?

I am able to do this but I have Voice Command on my e60, so I just tap the VC button and say "call ______", after confirming the choice is correct it dials on its own without pushing anymore buttons. My guess is that you don't have the Voice Command dealer option?? If not, I think you might be out of luck as this is the only way it can be done through the steering wheel. The only other thing I can think is to use your phone's voice dial...that may be faster than the whole Idrive process to make a call. I know that kind of defeats the purpose of bluetooth, but it would be faster.
