I just tried my wife's W810i and it works perfectly (without SMS of course). All features you would expect to find from a full supported phone.
The address book syncs completely and all numbers both on the phone and SIM are displayed. Names with multiple numbers are displayed separately with a Letter to display the type of the number.
Signal Strength indicator is displayed all the time however I didn't manage to check that the display in the idrive and on the phone were the same because the phone always had a full signal.
Does anyone want any more information on this model please ask and I'll check it. If you are looking for the latest fully supported phone then this seems like it.
I'm sure the snap in for the W800i (PN 84 21 9 116 566) works for the W810i but don't have one to confirm if it does.
This phone is great because it removes the need to have an iPOD in the car.

I'm surprised. Got a w810i, tested both firmwares R4CK003 and R4CE012 in combination with my Dec 2005, 530i e61, CIP 20.x
The problem is that calls initiated from the car (i-drive) are not transfered to the speakers.
Also, the signal strength indicator is not refreshed dynamically. In fact you always see the signal strength from the time point when car and mobile were connected.
What firmware do you use? What car (cip-version) do you have?
Please help!

Hi,
@norham
"not transferred to speakers" means that the speakers of the car continue to play music although the board monitor shows the "call procedure" correctly. Only the phone's speaker plays the ring tone. The phone's display shows "transferring call to head set" (or so), but exactly that does not happen.
"not refreshed dynamically" means that when the phone's signal strength indicator changes the car's indicator is not updated at the same time. Only, for instance, when you initiate a call, the signal strength of the phone's indicator is refreshed on the car's board monitor, showing the specific signal strength at that time point. That makes it rather useless.
If there is someone out there where everything works fine with his SE W810i, please give me more information of your configuration.
Thank you in advance!

The phone signal indicator was not testable because I couldn't get the signal to drop on the phone to check the indicator on the i-drive too.

Dang. I'm running v16.2 on my car and I'm planning to get a W810i since I skipped out on the L7 SLVR. Grrr I would hate for my car not to work with the W810i with 16.2.
