Anyone knows? Got this phone yesterday (very nice!), though I see trouble connecting to cradle since it has the charger connection on the side.

Connection at the side does not mean trouble. See the Moto V3's cradle where the connection is indeed made from the side. However I think it was the first phone to have such a cradle. So don't loose hope. BMW have probably not even heard of this phone and when they do they'll make a cradle for it 2010 (using past history). In the mean time watch out for Sony's own car cradles and then build one yourself.

Build it myself... Hmm, don't think I'm the man to do that...

Don't think it's available in the states since it's a 3G phone.
I know we're a little behind the times with cell phones but we do have 3G phones.

It's a great phone, very thin; less than 1 cm, good battery time. It works great connecting to my laptop and surf 3G speed (doing it right now). As for connecting with the car I don't know yet since I'm having the fully integrated Pro Phone in my current E61, will have to wait at least another week til my new E61 comes. The only things the phone misses is autofocus & light/flash for the camera and radio, all of them things a gladly sacrifices to get a really thin phone.

From what I've heard (from a friend working at SE) about P990 and M600 they are phones built on a older platform and new ones are around the corner.

All in all I really recomend you to get the W880i!

Thank you for the input. It was quite usefull. I think i'll go for now for a second phone with the w880 and in time when new ones get out i'll get a smartphone from SE, that is if the new w880 won't have big proglems like speed, software burps, shutdowns etc.
