ring tone volume

Can anyone help i jump out of my skin when the phone rings in my car if I turn the volume down I cant hear what people are saying surely the volume of the ring tone can be adjusted or is that too simple using a 3g iphone on a e61 2005 with sat nav I have a dension 500 is it worth me getting their bluetooth kit?

I take it you're using the BMW Bluetooth Prep Kit... When the phone rings, turn the volume down whilst it's ringing still before you answer it. Then the ring volume will be down, and the voice colume SHOULDN'T be affected. Hope this helps.
