My Ride: 2006 BMW E60 M5
Retrofit Bluetooth
Hi, new to the site and already finding loads of useful info - so thanks all! I have recently purchased a late 2006 E60 M5 which I am REALLY enjoying! Made a couple of modifications (swapped wooden trim for brushed aluminium - looks awesome!) and am now thinking about Bluetooth. The car has come with satnav but not phone, the previous owner has installed a Parrot CK3100 kit which is ok but I would really like to replicate the factory Bluetooth if at all possible. Does anyone have a list of what I need to look for to ascertain what is pre-fitted which will help me determine what I need to buy??? Many thanks - Andy

My Ride: 2004 545i
Sorry, total nube here. Recently purchased a 2004 545i. It has phone button and voice enable button on steering wheel. Also the iDrive screen shows that the car is receiving a cell phone signal. Bars go up and down as I travel. Car is communicating with something. Owners manual that came with the car shows a BMW phone connecting directly with the car. Dealership told me I needed a new TCU. Total cost of almost what I paid for the car. Manufacture date is 03/04. Do I really need a new TCU or will a BMW phone connect to the car?

Verify your TCU module in the trunk. In the back of the unit is a label if Bluetooth symbol is there you can enable it via coding.
