removing the left panel for TCU

i recently bought a new TCU and i'm trying to get to the left panel in the trunk, but i can't find the second screw to release the panel. I see one big black screw near the tail light but i remember reading about a second screw. I couldn't find it for the life of me.

any idea what that little door is for? seems like a little place to hide things
