My Ride: BMW 550i Sapphire Black on Black.
Hi All,
Just purchased a 2006 550i and when i try to pair my phone it does not recognize my phone. My phone also does not recognize the bluetooth in the car and currently I am using a blackberry storm. I have tried with other phones and still no luck. I contacted the dealer and he states the reason this is not working is because I did not sign up for bmw assist which would cost me 200 dollars a year. From reading the forums this does not appear to be the case and I would like some input on how I can resolve this.
Thanks

this has NOTHING to do with BMW assist. your dealer needs to be slapped in the face. seriously. haha, my dealer told me they would set it up for me +1 for Fields....
anyway, it is in the owners manual. you need to follow that step by step. you also need to ensure you have enabled blue tooth on your phone. you should see the blue tooth logo on the top of the screen. you will need to name your device (your phone) and enable your car. if i remember correctly the bmw will search for the phone.

Have you scrolled thru your iDrive settings to see if you have a bluetooth enabled/on? I think it under connections and/or phone turn that on as well as enable your BB bluetooth....both should ask for the pass key...enter and voila....

I have tried the instructions in the manual but am not getting anywhere. The only thing it is trying to do is trying to activate phone and I have setup a appointment with BMW service at a different dealership to see if they can fix it.
