I'm a new member and must say i'm very impressed with the site and the knowledge that people on here have. I recently switched from a porsche to a 05 545I. I use the bluetooth and sometimes want to talk privately vs. using the hands free. Is there a way to pickup the phone itself and either dial a number or answer a call?

I am using a Motorola E815 and yes it is possible to toggle back and forth between handsfree
and actual Cell phone. Each Cell phone is different, but the controls would be on your actual Cell phone,
and not on any I-drive functions, you should be able to find out how to do it in your Cell phone manual.
If you happen to be using an E 815, while on a handsfree call , press the main menu icon on your cell phone and a menu will pop up, 3rd choice down allows you to transfer the call.
