Please activate phone?

My Ride: 545i 6-speed Orient Blue/Auburn
I was able to pair my Nokia phone, however, when going to the "communication" menu it says "please activate phone" when I pres the iDrive knob it says "please wait" and then it goes back to "please activate phone".
Anyone familiar with this issue, what do I do?

You need to turn off the car after the intial pairing process and then start it. This initializes the BT link

I have had the same issue with my Moto V710. I have found that either turning the phone on and off or turning the bluetooth in idrive on and off allows the phone to synch. Unfortunately, it is not consistent and i find I do this probably one third of the time.
