Phone Adapter in the Middle
#1
Hi.
I use my Iphone via Bluetooth for my calls.
My car has in the middle compartment like a weird looking phone adapter.
Is it ok for me to remove this so I can have more space in the middle compartment?
I wont screw up my computer,etc...??
The only thing I hate about my car is that there is no space for putting stuff!!
Thanks

lol, picked my 350d up on Thursday and my wife said the same thing. My 320cd convertible that I traded in had more 'storage' nucks and pockets.
Its THE ONLY downside.

ECU remapped by ZipTuning to 260+bhp.
There was an original BMW phone in my armrest (the bluetooth one, made by Motorola, where you can insert a SIM card).
I took that one out, inserted my SIM and built it below the compartment (open up the back center console and you have room to spare).
Then i placed an iPhone holder in my armrest and connected it to my Dension Gateway.
When i place my iPhone in my armrest, it automaticly goes into Airplane mode and the SIM in the original phone takes over.
I couldn't get my iPhone to pair with the car though, other phones worked fine. (I have the latest firmwares on both my CCC and my iPhone)
BTW: when i took the complete BMW phone out, i kept getting annoying messages like: "Emergency phone error" with a SOS between the tacho and the speedo, so i guess you have to keep it in there.

I am actually going to go ahead and buy the correct adapter for my Nokia 6300 phone, even though removing the adapter would free up some space.
BT is very cool, but I have noticed that on longer drives, it sucks the life out of my phone (even bought a new battery for it). This adapter seems like the best solution.

You should be able to take the phone kit out and replace it with the orignal tray. If you look here then you can follow the directions in reverse:
Snap-In Adapter Installation
Alternatively, you can buy the correct snap-in adapter for your mobile phone and continue using the feature.
