Nokia E60

I just bought 2005 530i. I was hoping any bluetooth phone will work and I bought a Nokia E60 for $350. But surprisingly, the phone is not pairing with 530i. Any idea? I appreciate your help! -Srinivas

I had an E61. My advice to you is sell the Nokia. It is not on the list of phones that BMW supports, so your dealer may or may not help you.
I know the Blackberry 8700c works

The Nokia won?t work because of the Symbian OS of the Nokia. This OS is using a different BLuetooth stack which is not know by the BMW. So I am really sorry but there is no chance for you to get the E6x work. Also the N70 and N71 is not working.

I succesfully connected the phone via BT and I am now able to make and receive calls.
The sound is good and so far no one on the other side mentioned any problem.
The only drawback is that I am not able to see the contacts list and I do not know how to push the contacts to the BT unit.
I have found this explanation (see below) in a symbian forum which states Object Exchange profile is needed. In the Nokia E60 User Manual is cited this profile. Any hint???
In general, phones that utilize the Bluetooth HANDSFREE protocol SHOULD be compatible with the BMW Bluetooth systems, although issues with how the handset manufacturer implements this protocol impact overall compatibility as well as automatic phone book and SIM transfer (sound familiar?). BMW's requirements for a phone to work are: a) Bluetooth, b) Handsfree profile, and c) Object Exchange.
- a) Bluetooth + b) Handsfree profile => ability to make/receive calls
- c) Object Exchange => transfer of phone book from phone to car.
