Has anyone had success pairing this with their e60??

Mine is a 2006 520d Msport, and whilst it pairs and shows signal strength it will not transfer the contacts

The annoying thing is it works a treat on the wife's 2007 3 series Touuring

Have you tried transfer contacts from telephone memory (not from SIMcard)?

No I hadn't thought of that one, I didn't think that would have made any difference. I just assumed that it would take them from either phone or sim. Best get out there and try it!

Thanks, will report back

Ok guys thanks for the help!

I moved my contacts from the sim to the phone and now they have all transferred to the car

The signal strength meter also works, actually fluctuating with the signal

So i can report full compatability with my March 2006 model.

Mine does not show signal strength meter. This is very frustrating. I've the latest software. What can be the problem here?

Can you post a picture of the iDrive with it?

My car has never had a software upgrade, I use the policy if it ain't broke don't fix it!! So it is still running whatever was installed for March 2006.

I'll try and post a pic, sorry about the quality I was in a rush!!

guys, question about the phone - happy with the nokia 6500? i was very unhappy with the 5310 and the 6300 because the phone made quite a bit of background noise while phoning (as if there was a radio nearby) - any issues with that on the 6500? how about the reception, any good?

thanks

Sorry for the delay, I've been away!

I'm very happy with the phone, no background noise and good reception. The only complaint is that it is a bit fiddly to put on charge, but I would still recomend it.

Actually the 6500 is only supported on new post 2007 cars.

I have a 2005 5 Series and it intermittently crashes the Bluetooth software and the Radio!

The dealer has told me this is a known problem and as it is not supported they will not investigate or fix it (Even though BMW have fixed it in later versions)

When I asked BMW they told me that I was the first person to ever complain about the very poor list of fully supported devices or BMW's inability to update the software post manufacture to support new devices.
