Do you have the BT manual from BMW? If you do not have it search this forum.
What is the software version of 6230?

Yesterday I testdrove a 530d and I was able to pair a Nokia 6230. At the very beginning it was not paired with a strange alphanumeric code. After a minute it appeared the friendly name.
I did some calls but the problem is that I can not view the stored numbers and names. There is a link in this forum which states that 6230 is perfectly compatible except for the snap in.

Is someone else having the same problem?

The 6230 has a known problem with the automatic transfer of the phonebook to the card....you'll need to do it manually.

Sorry Sans, what do you mean "you'll need to do it manually"?
Do you have a procedure I can follow?

Thanks

Having never done it I'm not exactly sure about the proceedure. My understanding is that the phone book in the iDrive can be manually created/updated.

FWIW, I successfully paired my nephew's 6230 and it was fully compatible - phone book, the lot. No problems - and it was the third phone paired at the time! Don't forget you can get firmware upgrades on the phone as well as software upgrades on the car, if that helps.

I have a 6230 but it won't download the phonebook to the car. I can use it to make/ recieve calls but that's it. My phone is on V 03.15, if that makes a differance, and my car is V 13.3

I would be interested in finding out the same for the phone and car that worked. All present info I've read says phonebook will not transfer.

Thanks

Try updating your 6230's firmware to 5.24. This version corrects many bugs and issues that the phone is experiencing. The current version on your phone is still one of the early releases.
