My Ride: '04 530i sport, Titanium Silver
Everyone,
I had a problem with my iPod interface in my 535xi that turned out to be a failing cable in the center console (the three ended beast that has a USB and audio that connect to the car and the dock connector that connects to the iPod or iPhone.
Anyhow, when my service tech swapped cables, the first thing I noticed was that it was a different cable. The large square box that was on my old cable was much smaller on this new one.
The really big difference was the fact that I noticed my iPhone now charges while plugged in!
I still get the screen on the iPhone about "this device is not built for the iPhone" blah blah blah. However, it charges the iPhone battery which my old cable did not. Since I have seen other posts on this forum about the charging issue, I would suggest you contact your dealers and get that new cable.
Cheers!
