This is the only tcu sized box in the lhs of my trunk (or anywhere in my trunk for that matter) but I don't recognize any of the markings on it. I am wondering whether its bluetooth compatible - whether its best for me to find a tcu on ebay or just a BTUM since I have the phone cradle, or whether I may get away with only programming.

In the comms menu is phone, sms and bmw contact.
If I mouse over phone, it says "please connect or switch on portable." Nothing comes up for SMS IIRC, and if I mouse over BMW contact several contacts and numbers are displayed. If I try to call one I get a message "please connect phone or portable"
Also, buried in the records is a bluetooth passkey/ imei / esn card. Not sure if that means anything.

Silly me the tcu is the rectangular box not the square box. Mine is the old 84 11 6942592 01 model, no bluetooth
