From what I was told the 2006 TCUs either came with bt or without...this one is without. The parts deparment said the BTUM is the easiest way to get bt especially since I already have the cradle. The problem arrises from the bt upgrade attempt which deactivated the CPT9000 as you said. I'm still waiting here hoping the can figure it out. Also there is confusion on who is paying for this, but they have been working ahead for free as of now.

What part of Pennsylvania are you in?

(By the way, TCU's installed by the factory from 3/2004 production on were BT enabled. By 2006, they were clearly all BT compatible -- period.)

I'm from outside of Harrisburg, but I go to Villanova, so I'm at Devon Hill BMW.

It's finally over. Devon Hill took care of the entire thing. The BTMU didn't work so they checked out the software did some upgrades and now I have bt without the module. Looks like all dealers are definitely not created equal. Also, the bt works great with my samsung i730.

That's great news -- even though we here on the forums knew all along it was possible based on your TCU date -- it's all about the software!
