+1 same here. The dealer updated the software on my 04 545 build on 05/04 and the Bluetooth paired to my I-Phone. Once you check the software in the car make sure your phone is compatiable with the ones BMW has tested. This way you will know if the phone you want to use will work or if you need to get a new phone.

Did you guys just go to dealer to get this done?

The simple answer is "yes". But you should do some research and know about your car's BT capability first. For the earlier production years E60, it might require both an updated TCU unit and software upgrade in iDrive. As the later models require only software upgrade. Good luck!

my tcu didnt have any stickers on it, however I did find a motorola box that was sitting on the drivers fender well

It had the numbers 84.21.6919520-02 232925 21 usa.

Does that mean I am all set?

Not sure what the motorola box is. But take a look here (http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=71179, post #13), the metal box closer to the backseat is the TCU unit. And it should have a sticker similar the one in post #22 with production date.

My guess is since your E60 is post 3/04 production, it should only require software upgrade.

Here is another link with a BT pdf in post #1. http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=61510

Hope this helps.
