Is my car Bluetooth ready?
I just bought my 2010 535i a week ago and I thought I would be able to stream with my phone. I have a picture of my display showing Bluetooth in the multimedia section, but it's dimmed out and I can't select it. Is this the same thing everyone else has going on in their 2010 or older cars?
I've got the ViseeO adapter saved on Amazon just in case, but I'd really rather have it permanently integrated in the system. Any help you can give me will be appreciated.
Have a great day and thanks in advance!
Sam
ps
My car connects to my phone perfectly for phone calls. It's just the streaming I'm wondering about.

Well, I just purchased this...
Now everything works. It would be nice to not have to need it, but it does work well.

I'm in the same boat and would like to avoid aftermarket devices when it seems BMW intended there to be Bluetooth streaming.
I've got both an Infinity and Lincoln's from 2010 model year that do it flawlessly. Surely BMW had it figured out, too?

from what I understand, media streaming by Bluetooth is fairly recent (F10 +) Phone via Bluetooth has been around from near the beginning of the E60 in some fashion. [info from service writer at BMW of Des Moines] I am about to dive headlong into the world of BT on my M-ASK equipped 525i - build date right in the middle of the "we need to double check the TCU" period of mid 2004. wheee.
