My 7/04 e61, does the bluetooth work at all?

My E61's production date is 7/04 and therefore I would like to whether the bluetooth can be activated? It has NAVI professional and telephone professional (if that helps...).
If the activation is possible, is it merely a software update or what?
btw. what does the telefon professional include?
