Just picked up the new KRAZR K1. Paired with my E61 and it downloaded the phone book with no problems. The phone has a very nice look (shinny steel blue), and has a substantial high quality feel to it when holding it. Motorola has finally produced a phone that is EDGE network compatible.

I wonder why Cingular doesn't show it as an available phone yet on their site?

Pre-release. Cingular stores probably won't have it for another 6 months.

How is the size compared to the RAZR? I have been thinking of picking one up (TMobile) but I wouldn't want to miss out on the snap in cradle. If it fit into the cradle I have for my current V3i I would look into a KRAZR but I'm worried the K1 is too long.

Gotcha. Besides the "feel" of the phone and it's exterior finish, what does it do better than the RAZR? The Moto website just teases with very little substance...

The KRAZR about is 1/8" longer than the V3 when closed and about 1/2" narrower. When closed the KRAZR is about 2/16" thicker. The major improvements with the KRAZR vs the V3: 2mp camera/video, longer battery life, better screen (though slightly smaller), digital audio player (mp2, aac), memory card up to 2GB (came with 128kb), EDGE highspeed network compatible, phonebook now allows address and url input for your contacts, voice dialing - it can read the phone book (like the voice control system in the E60) so you no longer have to input a voice tag. Another cool feature is "delay answering" which allows you to hit a button, the phone stops ringing and puts the caller on hold and plays a message "please hold, your call will be answered in a moment" or you can record your own message. Very useful if you get a call while at a location that does not allow cellphone usage, ie. restaurants, so you can move to another location and take the call.

Neat. I see where they've clearly made improvements over an otherwise nicely designed phone (V3).
